What is Post-Production?
-
Most wedding photographers spend a lot of time processing their images on their computer. Instead,

2. Rotate and crop the images.
3. Add color and contrast to the images giving it the right pop.
4. Categorize the images as per – Preparation, Pre-ceremony Portraits , Ceremony , Post Ceremony and Reception.
5. Rename the images based on your requirements.

- For Essential Edit, this is our "no frills" package. Simply send us the images you want processed in RAW format only and we will send you with the Lightroom catalog or xmps (no jpgs, sorry).
-
Why should I outsource?
- Most wedding photographers spend a lot of time processing their images on their computer. Instead, you could be working on networking, marketing, or doing other things to help grow your business. Or, simply spend more time with your family!
-
What is your turnaround time?
- Our turnaround is 2 weeks for a wedding, 3 days for orders under 300 images.
-
Do you offer a rush service?
- Yes we do! Simply select Rush Order when placing your order. We understand that photographer's are very busy and deadlines quickly approach. We offer a Rush service for this very reason.
-
Why do you prefer Raw over jpg?
- Simply put, there is MUCH more information in a Raw file than a jpg. So, we are able to pull back details in shadows and highlights that would otherwise be lost in a jpg.
-

-
Does it matter which version of Lighroom I'm using?
-
Yes and no. It does matter because Lightroom 3 isn't backwards compatible. However, if you let us know
if you're working in Lightroom 2 or 3, then we can process your images with that version so you have no issues.
When you receive your catalog from PIE, you will need to download it and launch Lightroom by double-clicking the LR icon. Lightroom will ask you to Relaunch, which is normal. Once the application has launched, you will find that there are no previews in Grid view. This is also normal. It is at this point, that you should do the following: Select the folder that has a ?, Right click (PC), Command click (Mac) and select "Find Missing Folder". Then, navigate to the folder of the Raw images that you sent us. At this point, you should see the previews start to render.

-
Can I request the same editor to work on my orders?
- In order to keep our turnaround times and maintain our workflow, we need to divide jobs between our editors. However, if you provide samples of images you processed, along with the Raw files, we can use those as a benchmark for all of your orders.
-
What's the difference between Essential Edit and I Select?

-
I'm sending my own wedding photos for editing. Can you process them?
- We certainly can as long as you have a copyright release from the photographer who photographed your day. We would need to have that before we can do any processing.
-
Can I request the same editor to work on my orders?

Do you offer a free trial so I can try out your services before submitting an order?
- Yes we do! Sign up for the Post-Production Sample order and upload 10 images for post-processing.

How do I know what it will cost?
- Because our pricing is based on time, it is really best to send us a jpg of the image you would like retouched, along with instructions.
-
What is the turnaround time?

-
What is the difference between Album Retouching and Studio Retouching?
-
Album Retouching is retouching any stray hairs (on the bride and groom), light flares and distracting objects on images that will be placed in an album. You submit only the images you want retouched, or if you are sending us all your album images then just let us know the names of the files that should be retouched.
Studio Retouching includes more involved retouching such as skin blemishes, facial glare, stray hair, bags under eyes and whitening of teeth/eyes. You submit only the images that need retouching.

What does video editing include?
-
We offer two styles of video editing, Documentary and Cinematic.
Documentary includes:
Editing that focuses on simply capturing the day, as they happen, in the order they happen. This type of editing usually has less cut out of the final DVD, little to no dramatic camera angles, less music is added and less special effects are used.
Cinematic includes:
Editing that is defined as a "film like" look. This style aims to increase the emotional impact through use of slow motion and transition effects, saturated colors, creative camera angles and dramatic music. We help to create the "wow" factor to tell your story in a unique way. A cinematic filmed wedding requires more editing due to the sequencing of multiple cameras, lighting effects, mixing of music and voices as well as incorporating other special effects.

- PIE Tips
-
Shoot Raw
- Why should you shoot Raw? Well, Raw files contain much more data than jpgs. If ever we need to try and gain back more detail in a bride's dress, it is much easier to do that with a Raw file than a jpg.
-
Invest in Lightroom
- Why Lightroom? Lightroom is an amazing program that not only helps you to keep your images organized, but provides an all in one solution for editing your images.
-
Camera Sync your cameras
- Camera syncing your cameras are incredibly important for weddings. Reason being, if you have two cameras and they are off by even 5 minutes, there will be a notable difference during any event. We can then manually sort the images but it is time consuming and therefore, more expensive.
-
Upload times
- HERE is a good test to see how long it will take for you to upload your images, if you wish to ftp or upload your images to us. On that site you have to click "Begin Test" to test your upload speed
